Will you accept Globe’s offer of P100 for six days (P16.67/day)?
PAPAYAG BA KAYO NA MAGBAYAD NG MAS MAHAL KESA DATI PARA SA UNLIMITED TEXTING?
NANINIWALA BA KAYO NG MARAMI PA RING PAROKYANO AT WALANG NAGSUSWITCH SA IBANG NETWORK DAHIL SA PRICE INCREASE
TXTPower convenors Anthony Ian Cruz, Trixie Concepcion and Jhayvie Dorado attended today’s meeting at the NTC, eagerly awaiting word from Globe regarding the ongoing settlement talks brokered by the telecom regulator.
Our offer: integrate the old 15-25-50 pricing scheme in the new pricing scheme.
We wish to inform subscribers that Globe refused our offer and made a counter-offer.
Globe’s counter-offer: maintain the present scheme and provide a new choice of P100 for six days.
We did not accept the offer. The P100 for six days is tantamount to P16.67 per day which is 66.7 percent higher than the previous P10 pesos per day, using the P50 for five days pricing as benchmark. We feel that consumers will reject it as well.
Our final counter-offer: Since Globe appears to maintain a hardline stance against subscriber demands for a rollback to the 15-25-50 pricing scheme, and would rather offer a higher denomination choice, we propose that Globe seriously consider offering a P100 for ten days of unlimited texting (tantamount to P10/day and approximates the P50 for five days charged prior to Feb. 1).
We feel this is a very reasonable offer that is good for consumers and for Globe as well.
We thank those who joined the boycott of Globe services and especially those who switched to other networks in solidarity with our protests. Globe executives’ claims that more people are patronizing the Unlitxt rates and there’s no substantial number of subscribers who are leaving their network are pure baloney. We continue to letters of support for the boycott, as well as reports of unmistakable slow sales of the Unlitxt promo.
Based on an informal 671-respondent survey hosted on the TXTPower website, 34 percent opt to to switch networks even as 62 percent are raring to fight for their rights as consumers.
Tomorrow, we will release a report based from reliable sources on the approximate number of Globe subscribers who have moved to the two other networks.
We will also announce a new effort to convince the Globe CEO to reconsider his company’s hardline stance.
The settlement talks were initiated by the NTC on Feb. 9, with the objective of averting protracted and adversarial proceedings. The next meeting is set on Friday, Feb. 23, also at the NTC. If the talks collapse, the hearings will ensue.
There would have been no complaint if Globe did not make a sudden, contrived and warrantless price increase. Consumers have every right to take issue at what they did. Unfortunately, Globe implemented a new pricing scheme on Feb. 1 based, we believe, solely on the superprofit motive and with utter disregard for their subscribers.
Thank you for your continued support.

All of us are waiting for a good response from Globe.. and we are all very much disappointed with their offer! Globe is greedy!

pipo / February 20th, 2007, 9:23 pm
as i said earlier, TXTPower was right not to accept this new plan. It’s the same banana. Nothing less than a rollback to the old rates will suffice. The counter offer of TXTPower for P100/10 days is also acceptable.
Of course Globe will never admit that the number of unlitxt subscribers has reduced but that, my friends, is the hard truth that they must eventually face up to. Not only that, they willhave to face the truth as well that they have lost subscribers to Smart and Sun. I myself am shifting soon unless they back down. At the very least I have scaled down my usage of unlimited texting drastically.
The good news is, Globe’s offer for the P100/6 days is a sign that they are backing down. Let’s keep the pressure up.

Fellow TXTRS,
Apart fr engaging companies like Globe, we are also taking time to document very well our advocacy for posterity. We had info that a few weeks back, our call for a boycott was front page in a broad sheet (Malaya? Tribune?). We would like to ask your help in trying to locate that piece of newspaper and post it for all to see.
Nga pla, thanks to all those who sent pictures of the Globe website and posters proclaiming that Unlimitxt is “for good na”.
Keep up the fight!

Hi,
We can get special discounted pricing for Sun SIMs + 30 days Text Unlimited + 30 days Text2sawa to all networks for at least 25% discount.
If alot of people switch, Globe will surely take notice.

how stupid do they(globe) think we are?
btw, mahal pa rin ang P100/10days para sa mga students na sa baon lng umaasa. sinubukan nyo ba yong: P15/8:00am-4:59pm, P10/10:00pm-7:59am, P25/2days, P50/5days?? pero, i don’t think papayag ang globe, parang gusto talaga nila ng P20/day.
smart na lang ulit ako.
aRC / February 21st, 2007, 5:04 am
100 pesos in 10 days??? mahal pa rin. i still prefer yung dating rates, yung 15,25,50. pinagkakakitaan na nila tayo e. ANG MAY IDEA NUNG NEW PROMO NG GLOBE AY NASA SIKO ANG ISIP! buti pa ang smart at sun di pinagsasamantalahan ang subscribers nila. at saka BOBO na lang maniniwala na walang price increase sa new promo ng globe. At saka kung totoo man yung sabi ng GMA na the economy is improving, e bakit yung RATES inimprove din ng GLOBE? di ba dapat bababa pa yung rates kasi the economy is improving?

hehehe :p
and hehe.. i realized.. tama ung hinala ko na puede ka mag unlimited texting to all networks.. ndi lang sa home network mo.. cguro.. dapat un ung paglaban natin
100 - 6 days? hehe.. katuwa.. the mere fact that globe made an offer like that means that they feel the pressure that globe subscribers has given them. and nope, i also dont believe that mas dumami pa subscribers nila ek ek.. its just to dishearten us.=) tamang me decrease in sales.. dun nga lang ke manang sa tindahan, sabi nia halos wla na daw nag papaload sa knia ng Globe, panay smart. so im wondering kung san nkukuha ng globe ung figures nila. or maybe they just choose to ignore the correct figures. ewan ko rin.. cnu ba nmn ako dba?? isang hamak na consumer lamang =)

a PROMO is just that a PROMO!!!
ano ang gagawin nyo kung tinanggal altogether ang unlimitxt? lilipat kayo sa ibang network di ba? that will make globe put back a promo, so why the hell do all this stupid stuff, when your so called power can be exercised even without getting media mileage? malayo talaga ang mararating ng pilipinas kasi lahat matalino! kasi lahat magaling! kasi lahat gahaman! hindi lang ang globe ang gahaman kundi kayo rin!!! gahaman kayong gumamit ng serbisyo pero ayaw nyong bayaran ang serbisyong gusto nyong gamitin!!!
FOR THE RECORD, TXTPower is self serving!!! are you looking at what other users have to contend with because of your greed to use the unlimitxt????
GROW UP and PAY UP!!!!
michael_delos_reyes / February 21st, 2007, 1:42 pm

Clive / February 21st, 2007, 1:57 pm
I agree with Michael actually. Globe’s been nice enough to come to a compromise that they never really had to come up with in the first place.
Why is it that when Filipinos are extended a little help they always find righteous indignation to ask for everything catered to exactly what they want?
I really thing this whole txtpower thing is overdoing it already. Cheapskates dont deserve full rights.
And if, by some chance you actually think that everything in this site is against self-profit and virtuously selfless, try asking yourself,
why are there ads in this site?
redkinoko / February 21st, 2007, 2:08 pm
red, you and michael are missing the point. Globe no longer offered unlitext as a promo. it was already a regular “for good” service. We are simply fighting for our rights as consumers when greedy corporate entitities try to have their way over us.
By the way, did you really think that putting up a website is free? the ads pay for the maintenance of the site just like ads in yahoo help people maintain free email accounts. duuh! where have you been?
michael, despite all the text messages being sent by unlitext subscribers, meron ka bang naririnig na reklamo about text messages being delayed? Globe’s systems can cope with the volume. So what are you talking about na “gaganda ang serbisyo?
hreynes / February 21st, 2007, 2:21 pm
wahahaha!
my day is now complete! thanks to michael and red =)
michael..
1. we’re not against globe for raising their prices =) BASAHIN MO ULET -> WE ARE NOT. and we would not be this pissed if they advised their subscribers properly.. ndi ung binackdoor nila kme. =) with them spending all their millions on advertisements and stuff, they forgot to advertise the 100% price hike (opps u forgot that small detail Globe?)
#2. id like to react to :” tama ang ginawa nung iba na lumipat na lang! yun ang totoong consumer, kung ayaw nila hindi nila ipinagpipilitan ang gusto nila!!! ” .. ndi nmin pnag pplitan ung gusto namin! WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO DO THIS AS WE ARE PAYING GLOBE!.. ndi po libre ang services, im sure you very well know that =) WE WANT VALUE FOR OUR MONEY. does that make us bad people? that we want our hard earned pesoses be put into good and proper use?
#3. so far, wlang dpat ireklamo about sa smart ze eversince handsdown ako sa services nila.. pro lumipat ako sa globe dhil again, VALUE FOR MONEY. mas affordable ang globe and they promised that the unlimitxt service is for good. come to think of it.. puede rin cla makasuhan for false advertising dba?? hmn..
4. keung nag bbyad? bket un mga unlimitxt subscribers ba ndi nagbabayad? panu cla nkaka avail nung service kung ndi cla nag bbyad.? dude? nag iisip ka ba?? ska anung pakielam mo kung panu namin gamitin ung service? binayaran namin un kea puede nmin un gamitin any way we want to.. kapish??
5. Dude.. willing kme magbayad sa justified costs!
nag taas cla ng rates? and lately? andmi reklamo sa globe na kinakain ung mga load.. ndi naactivate ung unlimitxt service khet me confirmation na? yan ba ung bagong services that they claim will help subscribers? lol..
6. and i quote hreynes.. “HOW MUCH IS GLOBE PAYING YOU?”
Red,
Cnu ba me pakulo ntong unlimitxt promo na to? Globe dba? and just like that they take it away? even if they said na its for good already?
tiNka / February 21st, 2007, 2:41 pm
hreynes…..
where did you see that unlimitxt is already a regular service??? I have been surfing the web site of globe where it says that unlimitxt is a regular service?
Regular service - a service that you dont have to enroll every so often e.g. international calls, local calls, regular sms, vms, mms, gprs….
promo - a service that is only available on a period of time, can be revoked or taken out of service anytime e.g. - free phone per plan, free load when buying a new prepaid kit…..
also who told you to put up a web site??? that is your own doing, hello?
delayed messages - wala kang naririnig? you want to hear one??? because of you text addicts, business men looses hundreds f tousands sometimes millions because their message is delayed! kung gusto mo itanong mo yan sa globe pag nag-usap kayo!!! maraming delayed message! i never wanted to say this, but you know what, Philippines will always be a third world country because of people and organizations like TXTPower who thinks and acts as if they know it all!!!
Promo is just a PROMO!!! hreynes - can you please show me or point me to a link where it says UNLIMITXT is a regular service? If you can do that I will gladly send to you my lawyer to help you against GLOBE!!!

michael, hindi mo ba natatandaan ang tv ad ng tocayo mo si Michael V ni “for good” na ang unlimited texting?
Ganun-ang regular service is one that you don’t have to enroll every time? Does that mean that pre-paid service is a promo since we have to re-load or enroll everytime to be able to call or text.
At sino nagsasabi sayo na convenor ako ng TXTPower? I’m sorry to say I don’t have the honor but I would like to form TXTPower Cebu with the approval of TXTPower Manila convenors

Bakit nagsisinungaling ang Globe sa mga consumer?

Ha3! Nakakatuwa naman ang sagutan dito.
Convenors, maybe on Friday we should ask the Globe lawyers if they know Michael delos Reyes. Kasi he’s probably excerting more effort to protect Globe than they are. Puros technicalities lang ang ni-re-raise nila. To think Globe is paying them much, tsk-tsk
TXTPower / February 21st, 2007, 5:09 pm
Its so easy to see why Mr. Micheal delos Reyes understands Globe. It’s because they think the same. They both gave an offer then finds a devious way to take it back. In Mr. Delos Reyes’ case he offered the services of his lawyer if anyone could provide any evidence that will show that Globe’s unlimitxt offer is already a regular service. We have lived up to our part of the deal. Now he’s trying to go back on his promise…
Well we dont need the services of his lawyer anyway. We already have a group who are more than capable.
Atleast now we all know that MR. MICHAEL DELOS REYES HAS NO WORD OF HONOR and we shouldn’t take anything he says seriously.
Lets just focus on more important matters…

hreynes / February 21st, 2007, 7:39 pm
I would rather stay with Globe and switch to their TM brand (which is masa focused, ergo the pricing is different) than switch networks. Smart has this habit of making load disappear and Sun has a weak signal here in our area. I will continue to support the move of pushing Globe to rollback their old Unlimitxt prices or the P100/10 days offer.

POLL
How do you feel about the all new globe unlimitxt texting service?
about 90%+ want the old rates back

just incase someone had a different interpretation..
aRC / February 22nd, 2007, 5:28 am
HA! Whatever or however they word it aRC, it’s vindication on our part. They are admitting that in their own poll subscribers want the old ublimited texting rates. i just cast my own vote. anybody care to guess how i voted?
hreynes / February 22nd, 2007, 7:12 am
spread the word about that poll, let’s hit globe at their own backyard.
hreynes / February 22nd, 2007, 7:13 am
@hreynes - I suggest you get out of Globe services and go to Smart!
a promotion that was made into a permanent offer is still subject to pull-out by the person offering the said promo, please read the fine prints…. uso ang fine prints read it and lets see who will die laughing….
I pity you TXTPower instead of focusing your strengths and time on making you rlife better by working or studying you are doing this, when you have a clear choice of shifting to Smart?
@hreynes - shift to smart! what are you waiting for?
michael_delos_reyes / February 22nd, 2007, 8:25 am
Shifting to another network is ofcourse an option but the whole point in here is globe’s charade of offering “permanent” unlimitxt 15, 25, 50. This is not anymore about simply choosing one network over the other, it is now more on deceptive advertising and bad business practices both morally and ethically.
pipo / February 22nd, 2007, 9:01 am
hey michael, you back again to give us comedic relief from our daily stressful lives?
Good, I need a good laugh.
hreynes / February 22nd, 2007, 9:37 am
pero alam mo, i think you’ve run out of valid arguments kasi if you care to read and think carefully, it’s not the pulling out of the promo that we’re questioning. The unlimited texting service is still there. It hasn’t been pulled out.
It’s the unreasonable increase in prices that we’re protesting.
And who are you to tell me to shift to SMART?

is there a limit to the number of comments we can post?

Just look at the strategy of Globe. They put out a poll hoping na marami magsasabi na they like the new unlimitxt rates…
pero… (look closely)… just in case that it doesn’t go their way they made the wording of the negative choice somewhat ambiguous to leave them enough room to squirm out…
Iba na talaga ang magalang manloko…
I’m still not using my Globe Sim. I’ve already switched to Smart for now. I support Txtpower’s drive against Globe 100%.

TO MR. MICHEAL DELOS REYES:
We also thank Globe for sending a very FUNNY CLOWN Mr. MICHEAL DELOS REYES, at napawi ang aming lumbay at nabuhayan kami ng dugo sa katatawa at hagikgik.
SALUDO KAMI SAYO MR. MICHEAL DELOS REYES.
TUNAY KANG CLOWN SA CUBAO CARNAVAL.

Here’s a screenshot of the Globe poll just in case they decide to take it down when they realize that the results are not to their favor:

@hreynes - its time to shift to Smart then lets see if your TXTPower group will be given even a bit of interest by Smart!
@Jhay - do what you should be active in school NOT in texting!
@TinKA - what is your number and my lawyer will contact you to give you the low-down on the issue point per point
michael_delos_reyes / February 24th, 2007, 8:42 pm
michael, why give the low-down to tinka only. i dare you to have your lawyer put his legal opinions here. we’ll see what your lawyer has to say.
or are you just trying to hit on Tinka?
don’t worry by the way, i have shifted to smart and they were quite happy to have me as a new subscriber and i bet they are following Globe’s idiocy closely. have you noticed that they put an ad that they already have 25million subscribers? wanna bet a lot of that are new subscribers who shifted from Globe?
hreynes / February 25th, 2007, 9:48 pm
@michael
do you think im stupid and i dont know the low-down on the issue per point? kze.. sa 22o lang.. ikaw ung sugod ng sugod ng wlang bala baril mo.. bka nmn YOU need to talk to YOUR lawyer so he can give u the low-down on the issue..
i dont need to talk to him personally, what you might want to do is, have him talk to txtpower convenors. bket ako?? -.-”
or bka nmn u just want to know my number? =)
