Nine things to do between now and Feb. 14: MAG-CYBERCAMPAIGN TAYO, MGA KA-TEXT!
Many of our friends still don’t know about our boycott and our protests to compel Globe to rollback the unlimited texting rates of P15, P25 and P50 for one, two and five days.
Ang kalaban natin ngayon ay lack of information, disinformation, misinformation. If we all forget, we will be surrendering our rights. But if we spread the good news of fighting for our consumer rights, that’s a big help in achieving victory.
We thus urge all of you to HELP SPREAD THE NEWS by doing any of the following:
1. PM all your friends on Yahoo! Messenger, MSN Messenger, AIM, GTalk and other IMs to “FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS AS CONSUMERS! FIGHT FOR UNLIMITXT ROLLBACK! GO TO TXTPOWER.ORG TO SIGN PETITION. AND DON’T FORGET TO BOYCOTT GLOBE.” Pinoy IRC channel moderators are usually supportive of posting such a pro-consumer message on their channels.
2. Whether you are a Globe, Smart or Sun subscriber, send the same message to all your phonebook contacts. If you’re on Unlitxt, 258 or 24/7: text all your friends on the same network. Smart and Sun subscribers are consumers too, and they deserve to know what Globe is doing.
3. Copy, paste and email the “Boycott Globe!” statement and the link to the online petition to all your friends. Nearly 5,000 have signed the petition, and we are sure more will do the same if they get information about it.
4. Add or make “Boycott Globe! Sign petition for Unlimitxt rollback at protest banner on your MySpace and Friendster pages, and your blogs.
6. If you’re a blogger, blog about our campaign. Feel free to quote TXTPower statement.
7. If you’re a blog reader, ask your favorite blogger to use our campaign as a topic.
8. Call radio stations and write letters to the newspaper editors about the issue, and why consumers’ right are important. If you’re a student, ask the editor of your student paper to publish our “Boycott Globe!” statement.
9. Wait for the final announcement on what we will do on Feb. 14, the next meeting called by the NTC in the agency’s attempt to amicably settle the dispute. We will have a different kind of event on that date that, hopefully, you will join and enjoy. Of course, we ask you now in advance to spread the news about our Feb. 14 event as soon as the final details are in.
Salamat po!

i’ve done most of those things, but teens are not really “joiners”, though some switch networks, others just can’t afford the new rates, so in a way they’re boycotting and grown-ups (or the ‘mature ones’) don’t really care coz they don’t text that much.
just 3 more days, i’m not sure if i should be excited and hopeful or prepare to be disappointed.

PILTEL will soon exceed the number of Globe Handyphone subscribers!!! Globe is now facing crisis when it hiked its rates. Let us see guys, Globe management is greedy and arrogant. Millions na ang lumipat sa ibang networks. As of first week of feb, PILTEL Talk N Text subscribers are 8.5 million na. Malapit na nitong maabot ang more than 10 million globe handyphone users. Nagmamalaki ang globe to have reached the 15.7 million subscribers but take note guys that 4.8 of them are TM so ang Globe more than 10 million lng talaga. Whereas Smart reported a total of 24 million subscribers including Talk N Text. We should count Smart Buddy and Talk N Text as one since the unlimited texting of the two is intercorporate which means Smart unli15 and 30 are available Smart to Smart, Smart to TNT and TNT to TNT and TNT to Smart. Wow it’s a good point to Piltel and Smart. As of 2006 kasi TNT is 3rd largest mobile phone. Smart Buddy is 1st having 17 millions. Go PILTEL..Lets make Globe the 3rd largest mobile phone operator!!!

Kasi nga pwede mo itxt lahat ng under ng Smart including TNT, addict mobile unlike Globe.. GHP to GHP lang talaga at TM to TM

jobert / February 12th, 2007, 11:23 am
Guys did you hear the latest? Globelines daw will offer permanent FREE IDD? Wel, alam nyo na yan guys!!! Globe so-called PERMANENT is just merely a PERSUASIVE FRAUD.
guys, if you can still picture the unlimitxt commercial of Michael V., Globe said it’s FOR GOOD, meaning, whatever covered their offerings then, they should stick to that old rates and promo. Furthermore, it was approved by the DTI.
Today, look at their new schemes.. it looks like ordinary comsumer like me doesnt know which is MORE AFFORDABLE & MORE PRACTICAL compared to their old pricing.. So for the meantime, i will stick to my SUN until Globe realize that they will be losing more revenues on their promo….
rorafu / February 12th, 2007, 5:43 pm
i’ll be resurrecting my SUN sim tomorrow although i’ll still be maintaining my Globe sim. as of now, mas sensible gumamit ng SUN kaysa UNLITXT. =c
btw, nasa Megamall ako kanina, nagbayad ng bill sa Globe… lo and behold, meron pa sila dun na UNLIMITXT poster!!! kaya i took a picture of it.

We’ve received many emails, expressing support to our protests.

Goodbye Globe HandyPhone…
Goodbye Globe and hello Smart. Not because of the Unlimited Text Rate increase, I don’t use it anyway.
