An Open Letter to Fellow Gentxters

Lakas manggoyo ng Globe Dear friends,

On Feb. 20, TXTPower convenors go anew to the National Telecommunications Commission office for the last ditch effort to amicably settle our complaint against Globe Telecom.

Right now, the ball is with Globe Telecom. We are awaiting their formal reply to our offer — that they revert back to the old Unlimitxt rates alongside the new promo. Of course, they have to modify the new promo and that means modifying it to favor consumers. If Globe Telecom relents on its hardline position, we will immediately drop the complaint.

But if and when Globe decides to junk the offer and prefers to battle it out with us in an open public hearing, we will be ready. Globe may have an army of highly-paid legal hotshots, but we are not short of competent people’s lawyers who are ready to defend our rights to the full extent of the law. Continue reading

Valentines Day: Grabe talaga magmahal ang Globe

Practically nothing happened at the NTC today Valentines Day. Indeed, grabe talaga magmahal ang Globe.

Globe lawyers said that Globe’s chief executive officer Gerry Ablaza has yet to make a decision on issue. They also said that Ablaza is still in Barcelona, Spain for the GSMA conference and will return only later this week.

NTC Commissioner Abraham Abesamis and Deputy Commissioner Jorge Sarmiento are also in Barcelona for the same conference.

The other deputy commissioner presided over the meeting by his lonesome and was in a bad mood that was unconducive to the “negotiations”.

Globe lawyers also said that they will have a formal reply to our offer by Feb. 20, the deadline set by the NTC.

The “meeting” lasted only 30 minutes.

We expect not only a formal reply from Globe on Feb. 20, but more importantly a decision by the NTC, as per the assurance of Commissioner Abesamis.

We thank Jhay and members of Kabataan Partylist for joining the convenors today.

Rest assured that we remain steadfast in fighting for our rights as consumers.

Will you be TXTPower’s Valentine?

TXTPower goes to the NTC again today, Valentines Day, at 2:00 pm to formally receive Globe Telecom’s response to our offer as part of the conciliation talks brokered by the telecom regulator.

The NTC office is at BIR Road near the corner of East Avenue in Quezon City. It is nearby the BSP, SSS, BIR and NSO.

Dahil grabe “magmahal” ang Globe
, we hope you’ll be TXTPower’s Valentine.
