TALKS TO END TOMORROW: WILL GLOBE REMAIN STUBBORN? WHAT WILL NTC DO?

Lakas manggoyo ng Globe Tomorrow, Feb. 23, 2:00 pm at the NTC, Globe Telecom will give its subscribers and the entire nation its final say on the ongoing settlements talks brokered by the NTC.

The ball is in Globe’s hands. Either it accepts the “P100 for 10 days” offer of TXTPower, or it maintains its greedy and garapal position.

The talks will collapse only when Globe rejects the TXTPower offer, which is reasonable and well within the capacity of Globe to give. Continue reading

TXTPower convenors Anthony Ian Cruz, Trixie Concepcion and Jhayvie Dorado attended today’s meeting at the NTC, eagerly awaiting word from Globe regarding the ongoing settlement talks brokered by the telecom regulator.

Our offer: integrate the old 15-25-50 pricing scheme in the new pricing scheme.

We wish to inform subscribers that Globe refused our offer and made a counter-offer.

Globe’s counter-offer: maintain the present scheme and provide a new choice of P100 for six days.

We did not accept the offer. The P100 for six days is tantamount to P16.67 per day which is 66.7 percent higher than the previous P10 pesos per day, using the P50 for five days pricing as benchmark. We feel that consumers will reject it as well. Continue reading

D-Day today Feb 20: Will Globe keep hardline stance?

All eyes and ears will be on Globe Telecom’s representatives at 2:00 pm today Feb. 20 at the NTC where the company is expected to formally announce its decision on the offer of TXTPower in exchange for the dropping of the complaint over the unlimited texting price increase.

The NTC have given Globe until today to make a final decision on the ongoing conciliatory talks, after the commissioners held closed-door meetings with the company’s lawyers and TXTPower convenors last Feb. 9.

If Globe decides to restore the old rates, TXTPower will withdraw its complaint and no hearings will be necessary. If the company refuses TXTPower’s offer, formal hearings will commence. Continue reading
